Renters’ Rights and periodic tenancies: what landlords need to know
Under the Renters’ Rights reforms, all new residential tenancies will operate as open-ended periodic tenancies from the outset, replacing traditional fixed-term agreements. Tenants can serve two months’ notice at any point after the tenancy begins, increasing the likelihood of shorter tenancies and unexpected void periods for landlords.
